Dope Calypso is where lo-fi rock collides with pop melodies. Their unique approach was apparent on their first album Farewell To The Fairy, Goodbye To The Ghost (released in 2014), but was crafted into focus and became their true identity on Banzai! Banzai! Banzai!, their second release.

Banzai! Banzai! Banzai! hits the listener with songs on the subjects of comics, sacred references and other obscure hints to current popular culture. When crafted into pop pieces these absurd stories barely last 2 minutes. But Dope Calypso can convey in a moment, what most bands struggle to present in a whole album or more.
